Paint like an Impressionist Painter

As you can see, this student was inpsired by Starry Night, Vincent VanGogh. Her version consisted of shades and tints of the complimentary colors Violet & Yellow.

Encouraged to use small brushstrokes, students painted like impressionist painters. They were well known for this technique, which enabled the eye to blend the colors at a distance.

The challenge for students was that they could only use shades (add white) and tints (add black) of complimentary colors: Violet & Yellow, Blue & Orange, or Green & Red.
